Apollo Orchestra

I have had the privilege over the past two seasons of working with the Apollo Orchestra, both as conductor and as concerto soloist. Apollo is an outstanding ensemble in the greater Washington, D.C. area with the wonderful mission of bringing top-level music into the surrounding communities and suburbs.

An instant rapport was formed with the musicians, and recently Apollo invited me to become their Principal Conductor. I will assume the title beginning with next week’s season-ending program of Hindemith and Mahler. The latter has a particularly special meaning for me, as the inaugural concert of the Montclair Orchestra seven years ago featured the same work, also with the stunning soprano Ying Fang.

I am grateful for this opportunity, and look forward to growing together with the orchestra as we challenge each other in the coming seasons. The Strad article here has more.
