Montclair Orchestra Advisory Board

The Montclair Orchestra is announcing this week the formation of its new advisory board. The ensemble, with its unique blend of established professionals, top conservatory students, and highly skilled avocational players, is branding itself as the “orchestra for the next generation” as it enters its highly anticipated second season. The advisory board, consisting of leading figures from the worlds of both classical and jazz, will play an important role in supporting the organization’s mission in the community.

The members of the advisory board are:

  • Yannick Nézet-Séguin, music director of the Metropolitan Opera and Philadelphia Orchestra

  • Joyce DiDonato, internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano

  • Fabio Luisi, music director of the Zurich Opera and music director designate of the Dallas Symphony

  • Robert Jackson, mayor of Montclair

  • Christian McBride, virtuoso jazz bassist and 6-time Grammy Award winner

  • Melissa Walker, president and founder of Jazz House Kids
